Home Page

The new london chamber ensemble (nlce) is renowned for its innovative programming, its attention to musical detail and its unique staging concepts. Since its foundation in 2001, it has become one of the leading wind ensembles in the UK.

Formed in early 2001, the members of the new london chamber ensemble (nlce) came together as a result of a passionate love of performance and a mutual desire to explore new ways of communicating musical energy to its audience. To this end they have worked with staging directors, performed works from memory, commissioned new music and continued to offer concerts of extremely high quality, invoking new interest in the genre. The ensemble’s programmes range from the finest centrepieces of the chamber music repertoire to fully staged theatrical works all designed to entertain, provoke, surprise and enthral its audiences.

The members of the nlce are all highly established professional musicians whose orchestral and chamber music experience includes: Endymion Ensemble; London Mozart Players; The Fibonacci Sequence; The Philharmonia; London Sinfonietta; The Academy of St Martins; Chamber Orchestra of Europe; Cambridge New Music Players; Continuum Ensemble and The City of London Chamber Ensemble.

Between them, they also work at some of Britain’s leading Conservatoires and Music Schools, including the Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity College of Music, Wells Cathedral School, and the Purcell School of Music.

The NLCE gratefully acknowledges financial support from the PRS Foundation.
